Sandy Baer
|
Earned a master’s degree in journalism in Missouri, and works as a free lance journalist. She came to San Luis Obispo in 1983 and became co-owner of a successful computer consulting business. She also writes marketing plans for local businesses. She is an active member of the City of San Luis Obispo Cultural Heritage Committee and worked as Director of Public Events and Community Education for Cuesta College and as Marketing Director for the San Luis Symphony. She taught fine motor skills to severely handicapped children and did intake and case management work on frequent trips to Mexico with the local Flying Samaritans medical team. |

Alex Gough

|
The owner of Adobe Realty, located in the historic Sauer Adobe, which he also owns. After a San Luis Obispo boyhood, he earned a journalism degree from San Jose State then worked his way to Europe as a merchant seaman and traveled through Europe while writing travel, financial and political articles. After continuing his journalism career in the Bay Area he returned to San Luis Obispo and worked for the Department of Social Services. He and his wife raised their children in the Adobe before taking over his mother’s real estate business together. He serves on the Downtown Association and the Seismic Safety Commission. |

Ellen Harper |
Originally from Boston, where she trained as a nurse; her medical work briefly took her to Sumatra. She moved to San Luis Obispo in 1960. While raising her four children she volunteered to work with 4-H, the Youth Symphony, and various school activities. In 1975, Ellen was elected to the Cuesta College Board of Trustees, where she served until 1996. In 1998 she retired from her position in school nursing with the Lucia Mar School District. She continues as a member of the League of Women Voters, the SLO Botanical Gardens, and the Healthy Communities Project. Ellen and her husband, Martin Luschei, live in San Luis Obispo. She currently chairs our Dallidet Committee. |

Dan Harvey

|
A software engineer who has been a resident of SLO for most of the years since earning a Cal Poly BS in 1976. He has wide experience working with research committees, and is proficient at gathering information outside his field of professional expertise. |

Carol Lowry |
Carol is a life-long resident of San Luis Obispo County who traces her San Luis Obispo roots back through half a dozen generations. She attended a one-room school in Cambria, where the family had a ranch, and attended junior college in San Luis Obispo. She is a long-time member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, where she has served as chapter president, and is a member of Los Californios. Travel and landscape painting are her hobbies. |

Ellie Malykont
|
Ellie has worked in property management for 25 years, supervising accounting, maintenance, tenant selection, personnel, resident managers and general operations. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the SLO HepC/AIDS project and is President of the SLO Off-Campus Housing Association. |

Roberta Soules

|
Roberta is a tax accountant and financial planner who came to San Luis Obispo from Long Beach in 1966 to major in history at Cal Poly, an interest that led her to visit historical sites in Europe. She likes the immediacy of local history, and has enjoyed researching the history of the Farmers’ Alliance as part of her work with our Exhibits Committee. |
